ELFCup 2003
The ELFCup 2003 took place in Frankfurt, amidst unseasonably high temperatures, from 5th to 9th June, 2003. The competition was contested by 16 teams, including many of the stronger squads from the Mundiavocat such as Budapest, Istanbul, Rome and Vienna.

London were drawn in a testing group, facing teams from Bilbao, The Hague and Rome for a place in the semi-finals. London’s strong performance in the group stage meant a semi-final against another Italian side, Livorno, which London went on to win 2-0.

The final of ELFCup 2003 was a tight affair between LLFC and a very strong and experienced Budapest side which had appeared in, but lost, the last two Mundiavocat finals. Experience met youth in an open game played in front of a few hundred spectators at Frankfurt FC’s splendid Brentanobad stadium. However, nothing quite fell for London and a well-drilled Budapest defence kept London out for the first time in the tournament. Final score - Budapest 1 v 0 London.
