These two shots were taken during the opening game of the 2001 European Championships staged in the 1928 Olympic Arena in Amsterdam, also formerly the home ground of the mighty Ajax FC. A London invitational XI (in the white and blue shirts), made up of a strong Slaughter and May contingent and which entered the tournament at the last minute, held the eventual winners of the tournament Amsterdam to a 0-0 draw. The two teams were to remain the only unbeaten sides in the competition.
